The 2026/2027 season of our Open Source Meetups has officially begun! On Thursday, October 8th, we welcomed you back to Concordia Design in Wroclaw for the 19th edition of the Wroclaw Open Source Meetup. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces after the summer break, as well as many new ones.
The evening featured two great presentations from our engineers. Jan Tacakiewicz kicked things off with a brief overview of large language model benchmarks, looking at how model evaluation methods have evolved and how they measure reasoning, knowledge, coding and agentic capabilities. He also discussed the challenges of evaluation, such as data contamination, benchmark decay and solution hacking, and the emerging best practices for future-proof LLM evaluation.
The second talk, “Abstracting The Hardware: Bridging Renode and Ghidra for Embedded Vulnerability Research” by Dawid Pietrykowski, showed how to use Antmicro’s open source simulation framework, Renode, together with the Ghidra reverse engineering tool to go from an unknown firmware binary to a working exploit without needing the physical board. The audience had a chance to see how tracing execution and manipulating memory in simulation can speed up embedded vulnerability research.
Our next meetups are already around the corner! On October 22nd we’re heading to Gdansk for GOSM, and on November 26th we’ll be back in Poznan for POSM. We can’t wait to see you there!
If you have an idea for your own talk and would like to share it with our community, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d be excited to hear from you! All you need to do is message one of the Open Source Meetup organizers with your idea.
